Rebuilding lives of the hungry and homeless
What do you do when your life is turned upside down and you have no place to turn?
Let me tell you about Marlene. (Not her real name) She is one of these unfortunate people. She and her husband, Tom, both had good jobs. For 20 years Tom worked for Cal State–Fullerton. Marlene is a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She has consistently been employed in healthcare ever since she served in Vietnam as a medical corpsman. In every way, a normal family.
Then Tom passed away very unexpectedly two years ago...

Volunteer Opportunities
Want to get involved?
Giving of yourself or as a congregation is much more powerful in the lives of people than simply giving money.
Over the years, FIES has been blessed with numerous volunteers who, individually and as congregations, have made an impact on the lives of many of the people they have touched.
Whether it is working in the office as an assistant, providing food pickup, helping with maintenance, bagging food or a host of other opportunities, there is a place you or your congregation can volunteer.

The Next Step for FIES
August 2009, Barb Jennings
While river kayaking recently, I experienced the enchanting Animas River as it snaked through the spectacular valley that houses Durango, Colorado. Just as this winding body of water is the lifeblood for that valley, so are the services that FIES offers as it continues to wind through the lives of many, offering hope and a brighter future for those whose lives are touched.
